The Pondera Arts Council desires that the Orpheum Theatre and the Addition be an asset to the entire community. For that purpose, the buildings are available to the community for rental at reasonable rates. The Orpheum Theatre and the Addition can be reserved separately or as a combined rental. Here are some examples of how the Orpheum Theatre was used recently:
One of our primary objectives is to share the love of the arts with children in our community. Many children passed through the doors of the Orpheum through rentals by Utterback School, Conrad Public School’s “After School Program”, and Valier ISD. PCI Insurance also rented the theatre the Friday after Thanksgiving to show a movie to local children.
The theatre can also be rented for personal use. In 2018 we had one couple rent the entire theatre for a romantic dinner and movie night. In 2019 we have had the theatre and addition rented for birthday movie events. The addition can be used for meetings, parties or events.
The theatre has also seen its share of musical events. It has been rented for piano and vocal recitals. The Conrad Mission Church also rented the facility to provide the community with a free concert during the Christmas Stroll.
